I feel honored that I got afull scholarship from the Studio of Corning Museum to attend the workshop ofMel Douglas named "Linearity".
The class started with several exercises of positiveand negative surfaces. We kept working on the pattern of the surfaces afterthey came out of the kilns and coldworked them, (stippling, engraving, scratching, grinding and polishing) to reach different patterns and depths inthe glass. Afterwards we used some of the glass squares as a base template forprint making.
Marshall showed us how to process from using thedifferent types of ink to applying and rubbing the ink into the glass lines andending up with a negative print using a pre-wet paper pushed trough a printpress.
